Community Group Support
At Agewell we support local community groups who provide activities and services for Older People in the Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne.
By becoming a member of Agewell, groups can access capacity building support such as guidance on funding, governance and training etc. In addition to this our regular members meetings and events are a great way to network and meet other community groups who aim to improve the lives of local older people.

Strengthening Community Groups for Older People in Mid and East Antrim
The Empower Programme is a tailored, year-long support initiative designed to help community groups build capacity, strengthen leadership, and enhance the vital services they provide to older people.
Delivered by Agewell, the programme offers practical guidance across key areas such as governance, funding, succession planning, volunteer recruitment, training, and programme design. Support is fully tailored to your group’s needs and includes one-to-one mentoring, leadership development, workshops, and targeted training.
As part of the programme, each participating group will receive £500 to support their journey.
Funded by Dormant Assets NI and facilitated by The National Lottery Community Fund, Empower is an opportunity to grow, develop, and ensure your group continues to make a meaningful impact in the community.
