Agewell's free home security check scheme is designed to help elderly people feel secure in their homes by assessing the safety of individual properties. Agewell has a team of trained volunteers that undertake a complete survey of the home and identify any potential risks. This includes everything from providing advice on door and window security, to looking for smoke alarms or assessing if staircases are fitted with handrails for extra stability. Agewell creates recommendations tailored to individual situations so that elderly people can be safe and independent in their own home for as long as possible.

Agewell's free home security check scheme is designed to provide vulnerable people with a holistic view of home safety. Agewell's team works closely with police forces, local authorities and housing providers in order to identify risk factors that can be addressed from the initial assessment. From this assessment, Agewell will customise a plan for customers that includes recommendations on how to improve their home security and make it safer. Agewell also provides advice on financial assistance to install or maintain necessary equipment such as door chains, window locks and smoke alarms. The scheme aims to ensure that vulnerable people not only have the right equipment and knowledge to keep themselves safe but also have peace of mind knowing their homes are secure.
